First Day in Hongkong

First it was one crazy weekend at Hongkong. After everything that had happened to us there, well, it's really crazy and I really want to go back. LOL

First night. We landed at Hongkong International Airport 45 minutes after 12 and it was pretty much cold. The pilot from Cebu Pacific said that it was 19 Degrees Celcius outside; my friends and I said: "Sinlamig sa Office" (Same in our office). Well, it was pretty much colder though.

Well, I would like to give some tips to those people who want to visit the bright lights of Asia here it is:
A.) MONEY
       - Make sure that you have bills and coins ready.
-> If you are like us arriving at Hongkong past midnight, and you don't have octopus card with you then better have some coins ready or else, the bus driver will not let you in or will give you a free ride. Let's hope and pray that he'll do the latter.

B.) HOTEL/HOSTEL
       - Make sure that you thoroughly search the internet for reviews of your chosen hotel or hostel or ask your friends for recommendations and everything that can be useful for you and your trip. You don't want your trip to be something like a bad experience. So better do this.
-> We were at USA HOSTEL. well they are Good and Bad at the same time. Good to those who booked for their pricey rooms and Bad to those who booked for Economy rooms. My brother and a friend stayed at a 3-bedroom suite and it was fine. Of course nothing to be amazed at. It was a hostel. On the other room, my other friends stayed at a 2-bedroom suite and man, it was claustrophobic.  The sheets have bugs I guess because we're itching the moment we woke up and the shower doesn't work pretty well. But for me, if I am going to rate their hotel, well it was pretty much low. But the people wasn't bad at all! We have filipinas there who helped us navigating the city and the guy owner helped us buy our Disney Tickets! :) So, there's something to be happy about even though our rooms doesn't really looked good! Peace.

C.) ITINERARY
     - Make sure that you did this important assignment. This will be your point of reference, which of course is important to every tour. :) just prepare for it.
->Research for the places you want to go and see and take pictures. Make sure that you can reach it. Make sure that they are not far from each other. Well, if you see that you itinerary looks like the great wall of china, then there will be next time for those tourist spots. :) You can have part 2. Ok?

I think that's all. Of course, as a traveler, you must be equipped with maps, and other infomartion about your tour. You must have enough budget, people to go with and places to see. Well, most importantly BE SAFE!

P.S

I should've added our pictures in here but I guess my internet connection is a little bit slower than what I have expected. Promise to upload it once I find time!

Hongkong Firtst Night

Alright. I got really so ecstatic with me riding an airplane. I admit it was my first time and it was great. We were at Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 120. We left Manila around 10:55 pm and arrived 12:55am.

Well the airport was huge but the best part travelling during these hours was that there wasn't that much people. umm here's our picture:

This was taken right outside the Hongkong Airport where we were shocked at how cold HK was. LOL... :) well it was just 19 Deg. Celcius.. but man it was freezing! LOL... lakas ng ercon! hahahha

Of course we really worked hard in finding the right bus terminal for us. We know that it was the N21 Bus... too bad I didn't capture our "frightening moment" experience in the Bus.

Ok here it was. After that pic was taken we rushed to the Bus stand coz we saw the N21 Bus going to Tsim Sha Tsui. Alright that was great seeing the Bus but it wasn't great knowing that we don't have octopus card because they were closed when we arrived.. so we paid the Bus CASH.

Mind you people, the Bus in HK are quite good. BUT you have to pay them in exact amount!! or else the Bus driver will get mad at you and will drive like crazy.

Well we thought that it was just 30 minute Drive from the Airport going to Nathan Road where our Hostel is located, hmm what freaked us out was that the Bus have to go in circles and picking up other passengers for what.. 20 minutes? well.. we didn't expect that.

oh, and one more thing too, There are not so many people who can understand english here. So if better use one word at a time. and pray that you will understand each other! LOL.. no hard feelings though but I guess that's really is it. Hmm i can't blame them.. It was our first time though.

Ok the bus dilemma was over. The Hostel. First, we chose this hotel because a friend recommend this. Second, it was cheap. Third, it was in the heart of the city. Ok, everything's got checked. But what we're really worrying about is the quality of their service.

Our Hostel was USA HOSTEL. Um, yep it is located in Mirador Mansion. Going to the mansion was really great. Never talk to strangers. Just the police officers! We booked two rooms. Ours Triple Deluxe our friends booked Twin Bedroom. Well our Room was nice. Well of course it was a hostel. A little bit crack on the ceiling, on the wall, the aircon wasn't really looking pretty but is working. Oh and the Shower!!!!!!!!!!!!! The other parts of the shower heater wasn't working. So...I guess we need to live in it for a couple of days.. :) And our room is good for two people but because of the double deck we manage to compress ourselves. Well the hallway is tiny too! hehehe

I haven't checked our friends' room yet but according to them it wasn't that good!!!! :)

well that's it for the night.... :)

oh and this morning my friend woke up with insect bites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hong Kong -- ALL PLANNED?

Yes I think we are!!!!! :)

For the record, this is going to be my first time to go out of the country. In fact, this is my first time to ride a plane! LOL

OK, to those who needs help -- this are the things that my friends and I have done:

For a couple of weeks, we've been planning for:

1. Where to go
2. Where to stay
3. What to do

Well, We really wanted to see Mickey Mouse at Hong Kong Disneyland. It's been my dream.. our dream to really go and see the famous theme park. Well, I guess you can really make your dreams come true eh?!

So, what to is cleared. Well, my friends love shopping -- basically we will do shopping there but the main goal is to find mickey! lol

Where to stay.. hmm this has been what will break and make us in finding mickey. Well, the first to break or make us will be the plane ticket --(just like what I've said before this is one of our mistakes. We didn't wait for a promo. So don't do it!)

One of the most helpful things that you can do is to go and look for a friend who had been to a place you want to go -- you can ask for some tips. :)

In my case, yep I asked several friends to help me with planning. So I got a tip to where to stay cheap and comfy! I guess I can mention it after the trip so that you'll have a full coverage of this trip..

I guess that's it for today... that's all I can write at the moment! :)

see you soon!
